Fiery Scorpio Suzi Simpson was born on November 15th, 1968 in Greece. The eldest of 4 children, Suzi has 2 brothers and a sister. Her mom was a flight attendant and her father was a Navy Officer. It is for this reason that Suzi has lived in various coastal areas such as Maine, Florida and California. Suzi Simpson's first brush with fame came at a young age when she won the Miss DC Teen USA Pageant. Her sights were set on dental school, but tuition proved to be a tougher challenge than expected. As a result, she modeled on the side. Soon after, she played in a Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial (no, not The One). Afterwards, Suzi made appearances in movies ranging from St-Elmo's Fire to Men at Work. After a fateful encounter with a Playboy photographer who encouraged her to pose for the magazine, Suzi decided to go for it. She has appeared in Married... With Children and if you have an urge to ask whether she is headed up or down, it may be because she played in Aerosmith's "Love in an Elevator" video. On the heel of the ten year anniversary as a Playmate, we sat down with the sexy sweetheart and discussed her appearance in the movie Rock Star, how she got into the business, and what she remembers most about the man they call Hef. Oh, by the way, she spills her guts on Slick Willie, Colin Powell, and pretty much everything else that we asked her regarding religion, politics and of course, sex. Interview with Suzi : Q: Hey Suzi, what have you been up to? I just finished writing a comedy and I am looking for a producer for it. It is similar to Caddyshack. Q: How did you get into Playboy? My dad entered me into a pageant; it was a joke at the time, my mom's side would make jokes about it because I was a tomboy. I preferred playing with the guys. They would let me play, but I would not count; they labeled me DC for Doesn't Count. Anyway, my dad entered me and sure enough, I won and went on to win the Miss Teen Pageant. I wanted to go to dental or medical school, so I modeled part-time to pay for tuition, and when I graduated, I came out to California and kept getting all these modeling jobs. I was trying to get into dental school, and about the time I got accepted, I had to think up ways to make money. A photographer for Playboy suggested the centerfold. I was rather conservative, I was not a wild girl, I would not hump around... and he said that Playboy was very professional and that my preconceived ideas are just not true, so I gave it a shot. Q: Actually, this is what all the former Playmates we talk to say: that Hugh has built one finely oiled professional business and that they are treated very well -- no joke... Very much so, and now that he is on Viagra and partying with the younger girls, he is not approaching them anymore -- they are approaching him. They are bombarding him... I was at a party recently and all of these girls were begging me to introduce them to Hef, saying all they have wanted to do was sleep with him. I couldn't do that sort of introduction (laughs); I am not a pimp. Anyway, Playboy is very professional and Hef is a great person. Q: What is the most memorable thing about Hugh? Well, for one, he likes to be called Hef, not Hugh. There is not a single thing, but what I love most about the man is what he's done for women and women's rights. I have no problem with the Catholic religion, but I went to an all-girls private Catholic high school. I was often taught that sex was wrong and bad, that it was something for bad girls to do and not for good girls to enjoy, and being around Hef kind of liberated me and opened up my mind. Good girls enjoy sex too. It made me less judgmental, and transformed me into a better understanding human being, and I still have the same morals and values. I prefer a long-term relationship with one person and get to be as wild as I want, rather than being all over the place with many guys. Q: Most men, and women in fact, do not view women who have been in Playboy in that negative light. It is a smaller, more extreme group that may see it as a bad thing, but they just make more noise. That is why we wanted to interview you; we assume that there is more than meets the eye. Is there not, Suzi? True. And it is really funny because I live in a real conservative, upper-crust part of town, and I know people here who are total hypocrites, I mean it is okay for them to go to titty bars and it is okay for girls to sleep with other guys and vice versa, and I do not even judge them, they can do what they please. But they find out I have been in Playboy and even though they do not know me, they will rush to judge me and what kind of person I am. I am the last kind of person who would ever take a guy away from a girl. I mean, I could be madly in love with, I do not know, Brad Pitt, and if I was to go to a party and see him with another girl, I would never do anything, neither of them would ever know of my feelings, let alone would I ever act upon them. Q: Interesting, but you know that Jennifer Aniston, your costar in Rock Star is married to him. You play a part in Rock Star with Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston; tell us about that. I play a groupie that wins the chance to follow the group. It was interesting. I did not speak to Jennifer much. Mark is the silent type and quite the gentleman. I also got to meet some guys who used to tour with Ozzy Osbourne. Q: I know, Zakk Wylde plays in the movie. But let's get back to your thoughts on where you live and the double standards. I think that there seems to be a lot of hypocrisy in this world. Q: Yeah there is, but I have news for you, there is hypocrisy in business, sports, fashion -- everywhere... people are hypocrites. I agree with you, you might as well bloom where you are planted, it does not matter where you go, what economic background you hail from. Whether you are from Hollywood or the Midwest, you will see it. Q: Interesting, where are you from? I was born in Athens, Greece. My father was in the navy and I traveled all over the country. Q: Favorite travel destination? There are two: Greece in general. I feel like I belong there and I have been there before... I believe in past lives and stuff, I am a very spiritual person. Q: Who were you in a past life? I believe that we all are down here to live and grow and until we know what we need to know, we do not get to go to heaven. Like for example, when you die, if you are not good enough to go to heaven, then you come back until you are good enough and learn the lessons you need to learn. That's my perspective, but I am no Confucius. I believe in God and being a good person, but I do not think that there is any good or bad religion; there is good and bad in everything. God gave people different cultures so they could learn to become better people. Q: Very interesting, you could start your own religion... where do I sign up? You mentioned Greece, what is spot #2? The other one is Venice, Italy. I love Europe in general as well. Q: Coming back home, anything interesting happen recently? I bumped into Monica Lewinsky. She was in the dressing room next to me and I felt bad because she was trying on clothes and they did not seem to fit her properly. And what upset me so much was that the salesgirls were being so nasty with her. And I thought, how sad that she gets treated so badly. Q: That does suck, and I do not mean to imply that she deserves it, but she did set herself up for it. Clinton got a lot of crap for what he did, justified or not, depends on who you ask, but hey, he made his bed and he had to lay in it... although I am sure he was standing up at the time... See, I am not a big fan of Bill Clinton. Q: What don't you like about Slick Willie? What I do not like about Slick Willie is that, and this is not his fault, his private life should have remained private. We need role models and we need heroes. Q: Yeah, but he did not send out a press release saying that he got pleasured by Monica in the Oval Office. Some douche bag dug that crap out. It is very difficult to serve in office, but it would be nice if we could elect officials that do not have as much to dig up... Q: Yes but Suzi, at the end of the day, we all have dirt that could be uncovered, but it's only when you are in office that it becomes interesting. In other countries, they were laughing at us. It's embarrassing when people laugh at the President. Q: So what? The US is still a good place to live, and look at George W. Bush -- they are picking on his daughters because a) there is only so much you can pick on him about, and b) he's boring. Yeah, but I heard some sketchy things about Bush in Texas... Q: People knew... actually, what do you know? There was a bit of a drinking thing... Q: Everyone knows that, did he not also have that piece of dirt come up about the drinking and driving episode, and he did coke too... he looks high as we speak. Aren't we being hypocrites now? Not really since this is out in the open. Where does the hypocrisy show? They elect him despite this baggage. And these were "holier than thou" Republicans voting for him. They expect a certain kind of a candidate yet they voted for someone with a shady background. I think that there are people out there who could serve the country well and would not have shady backgrounds. Q: Yeah, and they do things other than politics... For example, I like Colin Powell. Q: So do I, but he will not get elected, let's face it. He might, although I do not think he is interested in serving... Q: Suzi, I do not mean to quote Chris Rock, but he is not interested in getting shot. I love Chris Rock, he tells it like it is. Q: Would you not agree with what Chris Rock says: vote Powell in office and you are voting to get him shot. Sadly, yes. And I think that there is this risk there... I would assume that his wife even addressed this fear. I admire him, I admire Norman Schwarzkopf. Q: Ah, you seem to like men in the military (laughs) I grew up around that... I have a huge amount of respect for men who put their lives on the line for their country. Q: I am more like Gandhi and am against war... so Colin Powell barely passes, but Norman does not. I like Gandhi too, and I also like Mother Teresa, so in that sense, I am weird. My opinions do not fall under democratic or republican view. I am very much against war, I eat mostly organic and vegetarian food, I meditate, I play my part to make the world a better place. But if we do have to go to war, and if others put their butts on the line, then you know what? I support you and God Bless You for having the you-know-what... Q: Besides men in uniform, what else do you like? I like someone who has substance, I think that attraction is nice but that's an initial thing and you need something to back it up. I like cleanliness; I like someone who is intelligent and has a good sense of humor. Sexiness comes from within; they either have it in their eyes or they do not. I can tell from a first glance whether they will be a good lover or not. I can tell by kissing them as well. Q: Before kissing them, how can you tell by merely looking at them that they'll make good lovers? I look for someone that has got something going in the eyes. It is about energy; they are confident but not arrogant. I think that intelligence and a sense of humor are very sexy; it is a vibe I get from men. Q: What would you do if you were a man for a day? You know, there are probably a lot of things that I would do as a man that I do not do because I am a woman. I have penis envy in some ways, as I think that it is a man's world. Q: Yes, but women can get away with murder so you have to consider that as well. You are right, but I still think it is a man's world, and even though I love men and I am not gay, I do wish to have some of the benefits that men do. But when it comes down to it, I just love men, and I love having one partner and going crazy with him. This comes down to making love and at times, well, you know, it is like animals having sex... Q: This is the second time you say this. But by the way, sometimes it is even mind sex, so you never know. Exactly, thanks for pointing that out. When you have such a connection, you can have sex with anybody but you still won't have a true bond. I need a best friend and someone whom I can have great sex with. Q: In the beginning of a relationship, do you think that it is good to be so open? You should not lie or be manipulative, but yes, you should get to know her before... you have to be careful before you say too much. When girls are asking some questions, those are "loaded gun" questions, so whatever you answer is going to hurt your chances... so be smooth and say that that was your past and move on. Answer the question without hurting them. Q: We can tell that you hung out with the guys because you have a good perspective. I was a tomboy but when I started to look more like a woman, it was the girls who disliked me... and they would assume all these things, and the funniest thing is that I have been with less than 5 partners... only 4 guys. Q: Care to make it 5? Just kidding. Well, all of my lovers have been long-term relationships. Men are visual people and if you ask me if I am jealous, my feeling is that I do not care where my man gets his appetite, but he better get fed in my kitchen. This does not make men bad; it just makes them different. All men might be perverts, but no, not all are pigs. Provided he does not pork anyone else, I am fine. See, I am a Scorpio, I am a bit more open. For me, sex is more about having a good experience. I am picky about my lovers and once I pass an inspection, then we get crazy. He needs to be clean and have a good heart; I do not like the bad boys. I think that watching someone do kind deeds says more about their character. I like a manly man though. Q: What are some of the best and worst pickup lines you get? The worst is "baby you are so hot, I would eat the corn out of your sh*t." I did not have a response to it. close Suzi Simpson bio
