Date of birth: 12 July 1976 US Playboy's Cybergirl of the Month: April 2003 Interview with Wendy by Playboy : Playboy.com: What was living at the mini-mansion like? Wendy Culp: The whole thing reminded me of Austin Powers. It's very groovy and Seventies there, with a lot of bright colors. It was really different for me to have people waiting on me, be chauffeured everywhere, to go to photo shoots. I'm not a model or an actress, so being in an environment like that was really cool. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. PB: You seemed to be one of the more conservative girls. WC: Yes. And the thing that kept me a more conservative girl, even more so than I am in reality, is the fact that everything we did was going to be shown on national TV. I didn't want to look stupid and then have to go back to my normal life and have everyone I know say, "What were you thinking?" PB: Do you think some of the girls are going to be embarrassed now that the show's aired? WC: I would hope they'd be embarrassed about some of the things they've done. PB: Were you nervous when you were posing? WC: I would say I was a little nervous. But I was more just in awe of the whole situation. I couldn't believe I was there, at the Playboy Mansion, posing for Playboy. It was very glamorous. It made me feel like a movie star. PB:Were there any bloopers during the shoots? WC: I almost fell down the stairs during my lingerie photo shoot. These stairs were so skinny and so steep that the only thing that kept me from tumbling down the steps was hooking my four-inch stiletto heels behind them. There I was, gripping the railing as tightly as I can, trying not to fall over, thinking how crazy all this is. That's so typical of me. I'm always falling over myself. It's just a good thing I didn't break my neck. PB: What's the craziest thing you did during your time there? WC: At one of the clubs we were at, we had no place to dance. And we really wanted to dance, so we got up on a bench and danced above the crowd. It was honestly the only space we could find, but afterwards I thought, Oh great, once they edit the footage this is going to look like one of those Girls Gone Wild videos, with us grinding on the tables. PB: Who were your best friends among the contestants? WC: I hit it off with Jennifer and Danielle, which is ironic, because we were all eliminated together. [Laughs] At first I thought that I'd be embarrassed if I got cut first, but when it happened, I figured that out of the whole nation, I was one of 12 finalists. And that isn't half bad. close Wendy Culp bio
